Advil shouldn’t be a staple in our student athlete’s gym back. (Honestly, it shouldn’t be a staple for any gym bag.) Seeing Advil, Aleve, and Ibuprofen in the backpack of local high school athletes is a problem.
54% of student athletes report playing injured
42% of student athletes report hiding being injured
We completely understand, wanting to win, being elite, getting that D1 scholarship. We understand not wanting to let the team down. If our children are injured, we need to know. At SCI we understand there can be some confusion regarding the process between “I’m injured, what now” and “I’m ready to play again.”
We have been (and frankly still are) athletes, we have been injured athletes, and now we are a Team of Sports Chiropractors, Athletic Trainers, and Massage Therapists ready to help our student athletes with a clear plan to return to his/her sport. And it’s not just about returning to play; it’s about returning better, stronger, and faster than ever before.
